Why become a Young Enterprise volunteer?
- By leading, training and motivating a team of committed young people and helping them to build a successful company from scratch you will enhance your management and communication abilities.
- You will have the opportunity to build self confidence and turn theory into practice by collaborating with team members to resolve business issues. This process will improve your business understanding, our programmes expose volunteers to the full range of management challenges, often outside their own functional discipline.
- Your interpersonal and team building skills will also be enhanced and will improve year on year.
- Active involvement with Young Enterprise can contribute as structured and unstructured hours towards CPD/CPE qualification requirements of many professional bodies including ACCA, CIMA, CII, ICA, ICSA, IPD, IEE, CIB, CIM and CPS.
- Being a YE volunteer will give you the opportunity to network with other committed people from the local business community at Young Enterprise events and networking evenings.

“Once I had introduced myself to the class and began the programme things just seemed to fall in to place and my nerves began to subside with each passing session. It was great fun and I felt really privileged to be working with the students. Seeing the different personalities and skills of each of the young people was fantastic.”British Telecom
“There are dual advantages… to the young people, we are helping them with their personal development for our own staff we are, providing them with a micro rather than macro view of business, and helping them in their future careers.”A video about the Company Programme from the YE website
