A word about exercising during pregnancy
Do not begin classes if you are before 16 weeks of pregnancy and have never done Pilates.
Your doctor's approval is needed before starting any exercise programme, especially if you have any of the following conditions:
- Any type of heart or lung condition
- Diabetes that developed before pregnancy
- High blood pressure
- History of premature labour
- Placenta is implanted completely over or near your cervix (placenta previa)
- Muscle or bone diseases resulting in physical impairment
- Three or more miscarriages
- Spotting, cramping, bleeding during this pregnancy
- You are carrying more than one baby
