Two minutes from the station

The house is really close to the railway station and there are regular trains to London or the Kent Coast. Stratford International (for the 2012 Olympics) is on a direct line and just over an hour away (65 mins). London Victoria is about 75 minutes and London St Pancras is 70 minutes.

The property

The building, situated in the ancient market town of Faversham, was originally a school behind the Wesleyan church. It has now been converted into six mews houses, retaining the original exterior and style. This has created a well designed interior with all that we demand from a modern home whilst maintaining the 19th century character of the building.

Our focus with this rental property is that it should be somewhere to escape from busy lives; to enjoy the company of friends and the quality of life offered by this area of North Kent.

Bedrooms

There are three bedrooms

Bedroom with ensuite shower room

One with a double bed and an ensuite shower room is on the second floor within the roof space.

Bedroom with ensuite

The second bedroom, also with a double bed, is on the first floor next to the main bathroom.

Bedroom 3

The third bedroom is also on that floor and has a bunk bed with a double bed on the bottom and a single above.

Bathrooms

In addition to the en-suite shower room in the main bedroom on the second floor, there is a bathroom with a shower over the bath on the first floor and there is a 3rd toilet on the ground floor.

Living room

The ground floor is an open plan kitchen, dining area and lounge. So, if you feel like cooking in the fully equipped modern kitchen everyone can be involved.

There are loads of books to read and you will find descriptions of local walks, maps of the area and guide books and leaflets of attractions within Kent.

If you want music, the hi-fi system has a CD player, a mini-disk player and a connection for your iPod/MP3 player. The big screen TV has a DVD player and VHS player so you can bring your favourite films.

When you arrive

We will meet you when you arrive and show you around. We will also leave you with a starter pack of groceries; milk, eggs, bread, tea, coffee etc.

The property is right in the middle of the town with a complete range of national and local shops, the closest supermarket is 2 minutes away and is open from early until late. Then there is a much bigger supermarket 5 minutes walk away for your full shop.

Thames barge We enjoy walking and visit many parts of Britain but we keep coming back to Kent with its past so wrapped up with the history of early England and the amazing ability to get away from the bustle of life, often only minutes away.

The local area

Faversham

The famous Guildhall

Country Life's search for England's favourite market town voted Faversham the best in Kent and the third in the whole South East of Britain.

The market, which is open on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday when there is an emphasis on food and local farm produce, is the longest established market in Kent being active from before 1086.

The local area is full of places of interest, from country houses and gardens to the UK’s oldest brewery and its national fruit collection, and with a host of leisure activities available the Faversham area offers a relaxing but stimulating break.

Canterbury

If you tire of Faversham, Canterbury is only 12 minutes away on the train, with its historic cathedral and bustling stores.

Whitstable

Then there is Whitstable (8 minutes on the train), an ancient fishing port that has been 'discovered' which offers modern restaurants and bars mixed amongst the clutter of fishing boats.
